Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia, July 2018 The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali and The Bali International Convention Centre (BICC) takes great pleasure to announce the appointment of Christine Sandner as Director of Sales & Marketing. She has come to the resort fresh from her stint as Associate Partner/Director Sales & Marketing, Hotels with Mark Norris Partnership International based in Dubai, where before she was heading up the Sales and Marketing for Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts.
Born in the USA to an English family, Christine received an international education before choosing to major in Hotel & Restaurant Management. She then went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science – Business Administration from the University of Denver, Colorado. With a hospitality career spanning over two decades, Christine brings a wealth of invaluable experience to her new role at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali. Having worked in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, for luxury hotel brands, she has a sound understanding of the industry in all its entirety. Over the years, Christine enjoyed a distinguished career in Marketing, Sales and PR in EMEA and Asia with Holiday Corp, Shangri-La, Omni and Mandarin Oriental where she held the position of Director of Sales & Marketing at their flagship property in Hong Kong before being promoted to Area Director Europe, Africa and Middle East for the group and was responsible for the European office based in London.
Always mindful about global issues and consumer trends, Christine is known to implement innovative marketing and communications strategies to drive revenue. This approach is expected to serve her well in Bali where a distinctive edge is required for the resort to maintain its leading edge in such a highly competitive marketplace. Christine is a hands-on leader who approaches every day with an open mind. By exercising fair and balanced judgement, she instils a level of trust within the workplace where people are encouraged to take initiative and achieve. She has inherited a talented team of young associates who will certainly grow under her mentorship.
In her spare time, Christine is passionate about travel and experiencing unique destinations with her husband and two sons. She is looking forward to embracing Balinese culture, learning the language, exploring the island and making many new friends along the way.
